Washington DC’s NFL team is on the verge of being renamed and rebranded. The last team in the national football league to hire black players has used a racial epithet (Redskins) as its image and team nam.

Many in the Native American community have long been offended and voice their opposition to this ethnic and racial slur. Sponsors such as FedEx have put pressure on the Washington football team to discontinue using the name “Redskins” this would be a welcomed and long overdue change.~mb
