In a roundtable discussion hosted by Congresswoman Lois Frankel on Friday, officials narrowed in on a timeline for COVID-19 vaccine distribution.

In the first phase of vaccination, hospital workers and those in assisted living facilities will be prioritized.

After that, first responders including law enforcement and fire officials will have access.

Though an exact timeline wasn’t made available, Mary Blakene with Palm Beach County Emergency Management said that the general public can expect to have access to the vaccine by the spring or early summer.

During the mass distribution phase, officials say that vaccines will be shipped to local pharmacies.

Palm Beach County is also eyeing a mass vaccine distribution plan similar to mass testing models and is considering using mobile vaccinations to provide access to underserved areas.
