
Leaders in Martin County approved an emergency order on face masks.
The Martin County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a proposal requiring those working in restaurants, grocery stores, and food service to wear face coverings.
The move is to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.
Florida has seen a big spike in new cases over the past week, including a record-setting day on Thursday with more than 3,200 new cases. Friday’s count set a new record.
The face coverings are also be required in businesses where social distancing is not possible.
Martin County has 1,421 cases of coronavirus, and 19 deaths.
