Cardiis telling her fans and team “thank you for believing in me” after learning her debut single “Bodak Yellow” secured RIAA-certified Diamond.  The 28-year-old Grammy winner is officially the first female rapper in history to achieve the feat.

Cardi first teased fans hours before the news broke that something major was to be announced, promising, “You guys are going to be so happy. I’m soo happy!!!”

After the association confirmed “Bodak Yellow” is now certified Diamond, the Hustlers star was quickly overwhelmed by an outpouring of positive messages and congratulatory remarks.

“I need a moment guys,” she tweeted shortly after the news broke. “I’m too emotional to see all these beautiful tweets.”

A song retains Platinum status when it sells over a million copies and goes Diamond after sales surpass 10 million.

As for how Cardi learned of the good news, she claims her label, Atlantic Records, unexpectedly whisked her away to a restaurant — which she admits she tried to wiggle out of, not knowing what the surprise dinner was for.

The singer said she tried to bargain her way out of her meeting with Atlantic because she has been hard at work rehearsing for her upcoming performance at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday — but Atlantic execs insisted.

At the dinner, the rapper was then handed the official plaque from the RIAA, cementing her history-making accomplishment.  She has since shared the photos to her Instagram story.

Not only is Cardi the first female rapper to tout a Diamond-certified single, she is officially halfway to a second Diamond-certified single.

Cardi received another plaque from RIAA during her dinner with Atlantic, which confirmed that “WAP,” her blockbuster collaboration with Megan thee Stallion, is now officially certified 5x Platinum.
