Black Music Month: Somehow Five Years Later, Prince’s Death Still Feels So Surreal As we celebrate Black Music Month there can’t be a celebration of music without honoring one of the best musicians of all time, Prince. Prince is admired by fans as well as musical peers, at one time Eric Clapton was asked what it was like to be the greatest guitar player alive to which he responded, “I don’t know, ask Prince.” Performances like his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame performance in 2004 and his 2007 Superbowl performance, where he took to the stage during a downpour, seemed as if he was born for those musical moments. His upcoming vault release, “Welcome 2 America” is already the number one release on Amazon’s R&B category, the posthumous album is due out July 30th. A new single, “The Truth” will be released on June 12th. What is your fondest memory of Prince or your favorite Prince song?
