ALICIA KEYS performs ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing’ at the SUPER BOWL LV

Alicia Keys receives Mixed Reviews For ‘Lift Every Voice’ Video Ahead of SB LV Alicia Keys received mixed reviews for her rendition of “Lift Every Voice” also dubbed the “Black National Anthem” which some sing in lieu of the “Star-Spangled Banner” which has been criticized for its racist undertones. Fans who showed displeasure of Keys’ performance may also have been taken aback by Jazmine Sullivan joining Eric Church for the Star-Spangled Banner and H.E.R. singing “America The Beautiful,” one user on Twitter called out the NFL for having, “an agenda.” The point, it seems, was to push unity on a stage all Americans come to for their final dose of football before the season ends.  Some even went as far as to call Keys a “black supremacist” and in contrast one user tweeted, “Watching the opening of the Super Bowl just watched Alicia Keys I’m Black and I’m Proud I’m saying it Loud I’m Black and I’m Proud it’s nothing we can’t do people I’m trying to tell you is nothing we can’t do oh and how we do what we do come on now.”  How did Alicia Keys’ performance of “Lift Every Voice” resonate with you?
