The City of Riviera Beach is excited to announce the return of the MLK Jr. Day Parade after a resurgence of COVID-19 cases caused the City to cancel last year’s celebration of the Civil Rights Leader.

The parade will kick off on Saturday, Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and proceed from Congress Avenue along Blue Heron Boulevard to Avenue L. The preferred viewing area is on the south side of Blue Heron Boulevard and Avenue L.

Congress Avenue will be closed from Canopy Lane to 13th Street and Blue Heron Boulevard will be closed from Garden Road to President Barack Obama Highway from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Individuals not attending the parade are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

Designated parking areas will be located on Avenue L behind the viewing area and at the Post Office at Congress Avenue and W. Blue Heron Boulevard. A trolley service will shuttle spectators to and from the northwest corner of Congress Avenue and W. Blue Heron Boulevard and W. Blue Heron Boulevard and Avenue L.

A water station will be located at the UPS parking lot. Mobile restrooms will be located at the Post Office, Imperial Lot and Avenue L.

X 1023 will be on hand with giveaways, and I will be the Parade Announcer hope to see you there!
