
Over the weekend the 54th annual NAACP Image Awards were held, and Angela Bassett took home the night’s top honor, Entertainer Of The Year, and also scored the best supporting actress award for her role in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and won for outstanding actress in a drama series for “911.”
Winners from other categories include:
Nia Long won Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Best Man Final Chapters.
At the same time, Morris Chestnut took the best actor from the series and the series itself won best Outstanding Television Movie, Limited Series, or Dramatic Special.
Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series went to Cedric The Entertainer for “The Neighborhood”
The award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture went to Will Smith for “Emancipation”
For Best Actress in a Motion Picture, the honor went to Viola Davis for her performance in “The Woman King”
The Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture Award went to Tenoch Huerta – “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”
“Abbott Elementary” won the best Outstanding Comedy Series.
In contrast, its star Quinta Brunson won for the outstanding actress, Tyler James Williams for best-supporting actor in “Abbott Elementary” and Janelle James for best Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
“P-Valley” won big too!
Winner for best drama series with Nicco Anna winning for best actor and Loretta Devine winning for outstanding supporting actress in a Drama Series.
Method Man took home the award of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role in “Power Book II: Ghost”
Neicy Nash won outstanding actress in a TV Movie, Limited-Series or Dramatic Special for her role on “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”
And the award for Best Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Television Movie, Limited Series, or Dramatic Special went to Keith David for “From Scratch”
Dwyane and Gabrielle Union-Wade both received the NAACP Presidents Award while tennis icon Serena Williams was honored with the Jackie Robinson Sports Award.
