With the coronavirus numbers going up you’re probably looking things to do that are fun but still socially distant (or maybe you are not, but I digress).
1) Yesteryear Village – South Florida Fairgrounds
The outdoor living history park that showcases buildings and artifacts prior to 1940 is reopening Thursday through Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The attraction has a BOGO (Buy one get one) this weekend. Buy one $10 adult admission and a second person gets in free (ages 6 and up).
2) Self-guided beach cleanup – Juno Beach
The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting a self-guided beach cleanup every Saturday from 10:30 – 4:30 p.m. If you go to the center’s back deck you can pick up cotton debris bags and gloves, and if you bring back a full bag you’ll get a free shirt.
3) Mounts Botanical Garden – West Palm Beach
Mounts Botanical Garden is now open to the public 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesdays through Sundays. The garden’s goal is to inspire and educate through nature, Mounts Botanical Garden is Palm Beach County’s oldest and largest botanical garden.
“We are delighted to welcome friends and visitors to Palm Beach County’s oldest and largest botanical garden,” says Curator Director Rochelle Wolberg. “Our 14-acre tropical oasis offers 25 stunning display gardens showcasing 2,000 species of plants, and is conveniently located just minutes away from downtown West Palm Beach.”

Garden admission is $10 general (ages 13 and up), and $5 (children ages 5-12)

Visitors must answer brief Visitor Screening Questions prior to admission

4) A Latin Affair – Lake Worth Beach
Cultural Council For Palm Beach County
Local musicians Jill and Rich Switzer and special guests Cielo, Clanaven Baldonado, and Chris Santiago will perform a Latin Affair, a free virtual concert. From bossa nova to rumba, cha cha to salsa, Latin rhythms will rule an evening of music. WPTV NewsChannel 5 is thrilled to sponsor the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County’s virtual summer Performing Arts Series. Performances will be streamed live from 7 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. on palmbeachculture.com and hosted by our own T.A. Walker.
5) Comedian Bret Ernst – West Palm Beach
Bret can currently be seen starring in the hit series Cobra Kai, and is regarded as one of the best stand-ups in the business by his peers. He was recently listed as TOP 5 comedians working today by www.standupcomedyreview.com and “#16 of the 101 Funniest Comedians Working Today” by heckler.com and TBS. He has five shows at the Palm Beach Improv and tickets start at $22.00 plus a two-drink minimum.
